Meet Brian Delgado!
Marketing Manager @ Park Dental. Member since 2013.
Why did you decide to join AMA MN? I joined AMA MN largely to interact and network with other marketers in the Twin Cities. When I joined Park Dental, I was the only person solely dedicated to marketing (we now have four). However, I still take advantage of the opportunities to engage with my marketing peers to talk shop and learn about what’s happening their industries. Plus, I do try to attend at least one continuing education course or seminar throughout the year, and AMA locally and nationally offers some outstanding courses that are often relevant to me.
What’s one of your favorite AMA MN events and why? I think I’ve enjoyed the new member meet and greets the most over the years. The board did a great job planning the most recent one back in November. It was a great mix of networking and fun.
Why is being a member of AMA MN important to you? I feel having the opportunity to regularly tap into a large network of peers from a broad assortment of businesses and industries is invaluable. We have such a great pool of talent here in the Twin Cities. Plus, everyone is so willing to share their insights and experiences.
What’s the one thing you wish others knew about AMA MN? What makes it unique? I have found that the more time you invest into it, the more you’ll benefit. I’m certainly not suggesting you have to devote a great deal of time either. Go to one event a quarter. Attend an educational event annually. I always seem to take away some helpful nuggets of information and meet great people whenever I attend an AMA MN event.
What is some of the best advice you’ve received in your career? Never stop learning. Being intellectually curious and willing to tackle new challenges has served me well throughout my career. This advice motivated me to go back to graduate school and continue to seek out educational opportunities. It has also allowed me to take roles in a number of different industries ranging from health care to CPG to banking.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy playing golf or working on my golf game. I love to travel. I’m a dog lover and currently have an Airedale Terrier. I also appreciate the opportunity to spend time with my family and friends.
