The Impact of AI on SEO: Technical Mechanics & User Behavior Shifts
Artificial Intelligence is fundamentally changing how search engines operate and how users search for information. This event explores the practical impact of AI on SEO, including Google’s evolving algorithms, AI-powered search experiences, Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), and shifts in user behavior. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of what has changed, what has not, and how to adapt digital strategies to remain visible, credible, and competitive in an AI-driven search landscape.

Guest Speaker: Ben Theis
Ben has always had a passion for supporting local businesses, and Skol Marketing was started as his way of helping these hard-working independent companies. While traveling the nation as a Local Partnership Manager at Google, Ben saw firsthand just how many small businesses and nonprofits were being underserved by the digital marketing industry, with very few options catering to their needs. He came to understand that by explaining the “how” and the “why” of digital marketing, he could demystify what was otherwise an intimidating and enigmatic process for many entrepreneurs and help them grow their businesses.
In 2012, Ben left the corporate world to start Skol Marketing. With the digital marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) skills he built at Google and eventually along with a talented team of other former Google employees, Ben founded Skol Marketing with one purpose: to help the small businesses he loved grow by educating, informing, and assisting them with the daunting-but-necessary work of getting their names out online.
Now, with Skol Marketing and the support of his knowledgeable and professional team, Ben can give back to the local community by improving the web presence of small businesses so they can get the attention they need to grow and succeed. Whether he’s building websites, strategizing and implementing digital marketing campaigns through SEO, SEM, and social media, or hosting workshops to educate small business owners on all the above, Ben has turned his passion for supporting local businesses into a thriving full-time career.
On the off chance he’s not working, Ben’s hobbies include maintaining the life of a die-hard Minnesota Vikings fan, trying to find the best dry-rub chicken wings in Minnesota, going to breweries with his wife, Emily, and spending quality time with his two pugs, Rigby & Mango, and pig, Skolie.
