1. Why did you decide to become a volunteer with AMA MN?
After completing my Communications internship at the Governor’s Office, I started working as an intern for 50th & France Business Association. It was around that time I began looking for professional marketing organizations for more interaction and networking. Initially, I joined AMA MN as a member and then decided to get more involved with this energetic group and give back to the community.
2. What do you enjoy most about being a board member for your committee?
Similar to marketing for a product, my role requires understanding the audience when writing and publishing content. I like Marcomm’s inclusive approach of taking time to discuss ideas and feedback following every campaign. It encourages teamwork and thinking outside the box.
3. Why is being a volunteer with AMA MN important to you?
Volunteering is a self-motivated role. I’m motivated by working for the community to drive learning and giving the best value to the membership.
4. What’s the one thing you wish others knew about volunteering with AMA MN? What makes it unique?
AMA MN gives you latitude to be creative, while still accomplishing organizational goals within its timeframe.
5. What is some of the best advice you've received in your career?
Professional development needs both education and networking.
6. Besides volunteering, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I like travelling, listening to music, playing sports, exploring different cultures, and spending time with friends and family.
