Meet Kristen Ohm!

CX Research Analyst @ CWT & AMA MN Membership Assistant VP

Why did you decide to join AMA MN? I decided to join to stay on the ball with the marketing side of things because my job is very analytical but the data I work with needs to be shared both with internal and external audiences. By being a part of the AMA I am always finding new ways to educate and share the most important updates I have with those who need them, whatever setting I’m in.

Why is being a member of AMA MN important to you? It’s a way for me to connect with others like myself who have so much to gain from being a part of such a great organization. Whether it’s using the online resources and tools and templates or learning new things at a meeting or grabbing coffee with a community member I am so happy to have the opportunity to be continually learning, growing, and engaging with the most up to date thought leadership and experienced professionals.

What’s the one thing you wish others knew about AMA MN? The AMA is renown for the impactful work it has done, the history of the association, and its reputation in both local communities and broader ones for being the expert in this industry due to its breadth of knowledge and dedicated member base. I love that no matter which part of marketing I’m doing, I know I can find answers within the community and it’s resources.

What’s one of your favorite AMA MN events and why? I really enjoy the new member meet up because it feels like the first day of school and everybody is in the same boat so wanting to get to know each other and very open to connecting which leads to great opportunities for collaboration!

What is some of the best advice you’ve received in your career? Keep track of all the “good things” for future reference and write them down!!! Whether it’s a reference or review of your work, or a compliment, or just a huge goal achieved, having these in your back pocket comes in handy in a variety of circumstances.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Walk my dogs around Bde Mka Ska, trying out new restaurants and mixing cocktails. If I’m feeling like staying home, picking up odd books and classes- one I’m excited for is Anna Wintour’s creativity masterclass, anything UX or CX related, health and wellness, psychology or human experience related, different work out classes.
