Meet Jada Holst!

Why did you decide to join AMA MN? I happened upon my local AMA chapter when registering for a national AMA event (Digital Marketing Bootcamp) and the rest is history!

What’s one of your favorite AMA MN events and why? AMA MN does a wonderful job of blending online and in-person events to cover tons of marketing topics, trends, and best-practices. A personal favorite was an event hosted at Morsekode covering thoughtful video planning. I’m also really looking forward to their “Coffee Breaks” segment on personal branding and leadership.

Why is being a member of AMA MN important to you? The opportunity to build relationships with other marketers, both locally and nationally, has been immensely beneficial. Seasoned AMA members are eager to engage with and guide young professionals on an on-going basis. I’ve had the opportunity to build relationships with local Fortune-500 marketers and receive stellar guidance on complex implementations. As a team of one, I often look outside of my organization for marketing guidance and AMA MN is a great resource. Another perk of AMA is its national presence. I’ve made valuable connections and friendships with corporate and agency-side marketers in Nashville, Atlanta, North Carolina, and more. I’m truly grateful for these awesome AMA perks!

What’s the one thing you wish others knew about AMA MN? What makes it unique? Call me a broken record, the relationships make it unique! AMA MN members are engaged because they’re highly interested in our field, not because they’re seeking obligatory benchmarks like you might find in other organizations. It’s a great place to brainstorm and problem solve with other marketers facing similar challenges. Finally, members are so welcoming and engaging, don’t be shy to fly solo at an upcoming event- you’ll surely leave with lots of new marketing pals.

What is some of the best advice you’ve received in your career? It may be a cliché, but my favorite piece of advice is: “Be a lifelong learner.” I take this one to heart and spend time every day reading up on the latest and greatest in marketing trends. At the rapid rate digital marketing changes, continuous education is critical to best position your brand and your team. Expanding beyond your realm of expertise is also highly valuable in your professional development and makes you a more well-rounded member of your team.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time? As a true Midwesterner, you can find me on the lake (frozen or not), finding new hot spots Minneapolis, helping dad on my family farm, cheering on my Hawkeyes, or cuddling with my corgi Hazel.
