Volunteer Spotlight: Ben Lunn

Nov 6, 2025 6:56pm

Everything that AMA Minnesota offers would not be possible without the amazing work of our volunteers. Often their work is done behind the scenes. To thank our volunteers and bring their efforts to light, we regularly showcase them in a Volunteer Spotlight.

Meet Ben Lunn!

AMA MN Volunteer Committee: Collegiate

Volunteer Since: Nov 2023

Job title: Marketing Associate

Company: Kaleidoscope

1. Why did you decide to become a volunteer with AMA MN?

I decided to become a volunteer after connecting with the Collegiate Committee while trying to start a student chapter during graduate school. I felt encouraged to get involved when I realized that some of my ideas could benefit other student chapters and that I would be a strong fit within the existing Collegiate Committee.

2. What do you enjoy most about being a volunteer on your committee?

I enjoy collaborating with like-minded professionals who share a commitment to providing valuable experiences for students in our field. Since I didn’t have the opportunity to participate in AMA as an undergraduate, I’m passionate about creating that opportunity for local students and serving as a positive influence in their professional development.

3. Why is being a volunteer with AMA MN important to you?

It’s very important to me to give back to the marketing community and help lead the next generation of marketers. As a community, we all thrive when we share our experience and knowledge rather than gatekeeping from emerging professionals, and I think it’s important to help lead that transition.

4. What’s the one thing you wish others knew about volunteering with AMA MN? What makes it unique?

Volunteering is fun! While it takes effort to keep an organization like this running smoothly, we’re all happy to contribute a few hours each month toward a shared goal. It’s not too demanding, and it’s a great group of people to be around!

5. What is some of the best advice you’ve received in your career?

Your career path will unfold in ways you don’t expect and can’t always control. You can set your sights on an end goal, but the reality is that your journey will take unexpected turns. In fact, your future dream job might not even exist yet! So trust the process, listen to your instincts, and treat every experience as a chance to learn and grow.

6. Besides volunteering, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?

In my free time, I enjoy cycling, gardening (ask me about my trees), being a cinephile, listening to live music, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
