Chad Hetherington

Founder and CEO @ third

Chad Hetherington is an Australian-born serial entrepreneur, executive, and investor based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He is the Founder and CEO of third, a 70-person global, social-first commerce agency backed by Growth Catalyst Partners. Throughout his career, Hetherington has built a reputation as one of the most connected leaders in the retail industry, responsible for driving billions of dollars in consumer brand sales.

Before launching Third, Hetherington co-founded The Stable in 2015, a powerhouse omnichannel commerce agency that scaled disruptive direct-to-consumer (DTC) brands like Quip and Ring into major retail storefronts like Target and Walmart. After scaling the company from 6 to over 500 employees, The Stable was acquired by Accenture in 2022. Hetherington then transitioned into a role as Managing Director for Accenture Song, where he led commerce operations until late 2025.

Prior to his agency success in the Twin Cities, Hetherington spent five years as the VP of Sales and Business Development for the crowdsourced product design platform Quirky.com, expanding its global retail footprint to over 35,000 storefronts. His entrepreneurial roots trace back to his early 20s in Australia, where he launched his first production company, Logic Films, before moving to the United States in 2007 to fully immerse himself in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) and retail landscape.
