Volunteer Spotlight Louis Czech

May 16, 2016

Everything the MN AMA offers would not be possible without the amazing work of our volunteers. A lot of the work is done behind the scenes and out of sight. To thank our volunteers and to showcase their hard work, we have a monthly Volunteer Spotlight feature.

How did you get involved as a volunteer with the MN AMA?
A former co-worker was on the board for the AMA and after some discussion she asked me if I wanted to get involved. I was a little worried about the time commitment, but after attending my first event (Super Bowl Ad Review) I knew I wanted to be a part of the team.

What do you enjoy about volunteering with the MN AMA?
I love the ability to meet such diverse people at the different events. When I am volunteering for an event, I usually get there early and stay late so I am able to (usually) connect with the guest speaker 1:1 as well as meet and greet with the guests as they arrive.

Tell us about your day job.
I am on the Marketing team at Patterson Dental. Specifically, I am a Product Specialist for Pharmaceutical and Controlled Substance products that we sell to customers. When a dentist or surgeon requests medication that we currently don't carry, I go out to manufacturers and try to find a potential source. From there, we discuss marketing plans on how we can build brand awareness as well as grow sales.

What book changed your professional life?
Hmm... good question. I think I would have to say the book "The Art of SEO" by Eric Enge. As businesses turn to an omnichannel approach to attract and retain customers, search engine optimization is becoming critical to retailers (of all sizes). "The Art of SEO" offers a wide range of tactics for those who are seeking to solve the complexities of SEO.

If you could be anywhere in the world, where would you like to be right now?
On the beach in Barcelona, Spain :)

Which superpower would you choose?
According to Buzzfeed, the Super Power I should actually have is Telepathy.

Thanks for all of your hard work, Louis!
