AMA Minnesota welcomes new opportunities in 2017-2018

July 12, 2017

Hello AMA Minnesota!

It is with great pleasure that I write this message. I am honored and privileged to be your new president.  As your new president, I am excited to take on this leadership position for the coming year and look forward to working with you during my tenure.

Before I touch on the goals I would like us to work towards; I wanted to take a moment to thank our outgoing president, Tony Rivera, for his outstanding leadership and contributions over the last year. With his help, our association achieved dynamic growth and built relevance in the marketing community I am proud to build on the successful foundation that he leaves behind.

Celebrating 75 years

One of the exciting milestones that we will celebrate this year is our 75th year anniversary. I’m sure you’ll agree when I say, “WOW,” and congratulations. Our chapter has achieved a lot over the last 75 years, and this is in large part because of you, our members, who go over and beyond to make our community a place where we are all empowered to deliver top-notch marketing leadership at our place of business. You are all great examples of why our chapter continues to get better and better with each passing year.

2017 – 2018 Focus Areas and Vision 2020

To celebrate this milestone, we have defined a new theme for the 2017 – 2018 which is, 75 years strong and the best is yet to come. We have also established new focus areas to build on the great success of the last 75 years, and to help us realize our new Vision 2020. Our new focus areas are:

  • Providing Membership Value
  • Accelerating Professional Development
  • Enhancing the Marketing Community

I believe that these focus areas will position us to achieve phenomenal growth and drive us towards achieving our Vision 2020 which is captured in the chart below.

There is no doubt in my mind that we can realize this vision. I look forward to working with you to take our chapter to the next level locally, nationally and globally. Thank you for your commitment to our association and for your ongoing support.

Kind regards,

Michael Wiener
